Right folks, that's your lot for tonight with the first two games of Wildcard Weekend in the books and our first two teams through to the next round.

The Texans and CJ Stroud were impressive, but also had a little help from Cleveland as they ran out 45-14 winners in Houston.

Apart from one Tyreek Hill touchdown, it always looked like the Chiefs were in total control against Miami, which they were with a combination of their solid defence and improving run game.

You can read all about tonight's big games in our more in-depth report.

So thanks for joining us again, and go get some rest because on Sunday evening we go again!

  2. Wildcard results

You can follow live text coverage of every game on the BBC website this weekend.

  3. Dolphins disappoint as Chiefs waltz through

Miami Dolphins 7-26 Kansas City Chief

Rookie Rashee Rice was a huge bonus for the Chiefs, with his 130 yards and a touchdown providing just the spark the team needed.

Miami will be hugely disappointed though - they never handled conditions well enough but also looked a bit sluggish and conservative play calling did not help either.

No doubt home advantage had a huge say here, but the Chiefs defence looks like one that would have had success even on the road.

  4. 'The Dolphins let play-off hopes slip'

Miami Dolphins 7-26 Kansas City Chiefs

Jason Garrett, former NFL quarterback and ex-Dallas Cowboys headcoach: "The Dolphins had the AFC in their hands and let it all slip away. They are a different teamwhen they are playing in south Florida, than when they are on the road."

  5. Full-time - Chiefs win!

Miami Dolphins 7-26 Kansas City Chief

And that's it, the clock hits zero and the Kansas City Chiefs advance to the divisional round while Miami's season ends with a whimper.

Patrick Mahomes and his team handled conditions much better than the Dolphins, who have now lost their last 11 when playing in below 40 degrees.

  6. Turnover

Miami Dolphins 7-26 Kansas City Chief

With just over a minute left the Dolphins get a turnover when Clyde Edward-Helaire fumbles the ball and Miami recover. All a little bit too little too late, but still..

  7. Post update

Miami Dolphins 7-26 Kansas City Chiefs

Plenty of happy faces on the Chiefs sideline, where the players are dancing, singing and generally enjoying their upcoming victory.

Not so much on the other side of the field though.

  8. Chiefs will be hard to beat in play-offs

Miami Dolphins 7-26 Kansas City Chiefs

Jason Garrett, former NFL quarterback and ex-Dallas Cowboys headcoach: TheChiefs have righted the ship this past month. They have got momentum and they’re going to be a team that’s hard to beat.

  9. Turnover

Miami Dolphins 7-26 Kansas City Chiefs

Miami go for it on fourth down but they can't find the completion and so the Chiefs will get the ball on downs.

The Dolphins have struggled to move the ball all night really and now the deep balls are a bit needless - surely that's them done for the play-offs?

  10. Post update

Miami Dolphins 7-26 Kansas City Chiefs

There's no doubt the Chiefs miss Tyreek Hill with so many receivers dropping passes, but they've develop a more play-off ready style this season.

As we know, their defence is great, and they're bossing it in the run game too, as they look a more physical, strong, power running tram.

  11. Touchdown - Chiefs!

Miami Dolphins 7-26 Kansas City Chiefs

Isiah Pacheco takes a direct snap, runs into trouble but keeps on running and eventually gets over the line for the touchdown.

Pacheco has deserved that tonight for his work ethic and toughness - and that reall yshould be the end of that now.

  12. First down

Miami Dolphins 7-19 Kansas City Chiefs

How crucial could that be? Clyde Edwards-Helaire is tackled short of the first down but refused to go down and kept his legs pumping to get over the marker and right on the doorstep of the end zone.

  13. Post update

Miami Dolphins 7-19 Kansas City Chiefs

We've had 'The Ice Bowl' for a previous cold weather game, but this is turning into the Rice Bowl as the rookie Rashee Rice takes his eighth catch of the game.

Rice has 130 yards and a touchdown in his first play-off campaign.

  14. End of the third

Miami Dolphins 7-19 Kansas City Chiefs

Just 15 minutes left to play and it's the Chiefs in control and looking to extend their lead - ideally with a touchdown.

Considering this is one of the coldest games on record, the players have all largely handled it well, but especially Mahomes.

  15. Post update

Miami Dolphins 7-19 Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes takes a low hit to the legs, and that's not allowed in the NFL these days so an automatic penalty against Miami.

Mahomes then fires a pass to Justin Watson around midfield as the Chiefs start to roll this drive along again.

  16. Sack

Miami Dolphins 7-19 Kansas City Chiefs

That's not what Miami wanted as Tua Tagovailoa goes down under pressure from Chris Jones - it's more excellent work from the Chiefs defence.

  17. Time for Tua

Miami Dolphins 7-19 Kansas City Chiefs

Right then, while Patrick Mahomes fiddles with his helmet on the sidelines, Tua Tagovailoa has to get moving before this game slips away.

Miami have shown they can strike quickly from nowhere, so this game won't be over until it's over, but they need to start to get something rolling soon.

  18. Field goal - Chiefs

Miami Dolphins 7-19 Kansas City Chiefs

Even in this cold, 21 yards is a chip shot for Harrison Butker, who nails his fourth kick of the day as the Chiefs just edge further clear.

That equipment change for Mahomes just put him off his game a bit, and the third down play was a bit rushed and a bit of a mess in the end as nobody picked up the blitz and Mahomes was hit as he just threw it away.

  19. Great play!

Miami Dolphins 7-16 Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes is off again, and just as it looks like he'll slide down, the Dolphins defenders part and he continues down to the two yard line before taking a decent hit to stop his progress.

There's a piece that comes off his helmet as well after the tackle, which results in the game being stopped so he can get that replaced.

  20. Post update

Miami Dolphins 7-16 Kansas City Chiefs

Clyde Edwards-Helaire shows he can run angry too, and his brutal run is lengthened by a few friends helping with a rolling maul style move getting a first down.

Both of the Chiefs' running back are about as physical as they come.
